The Ultraguard UG-04 ultrasonic antifouling system was successfully installed, protecting the vessel’s hull from marine growth without the use of chemicals.
As part of MI Solutions’ marine electrical and installation services, our team carried out the complete supply, installation, and commissioning of the system from transducer mounting through to final handover with all four channels confirmed live and operational.
The System Enables
- Fouling prevention at larval stage before attachment
- Chemical-free, environmentally responsible protection
- Independent transducer operation for maximum reliability
- Quick modular part replacement with minimal downtime
Installation Process
Our marine electrical engineers carried out the full installation following a structured process ensuring correct transducer placement, clean cable routing, and a fully commissioned system before handover.
|
Step 1
Vessel Survey & Transducer Position PlanningBefore any equipment was installed, our engineers carried out a full vessel survey to assess the hull layout and identify the correct transducer positions. Coverage mapping was done to ensure no dead zones every section of the hull receiving full ultrasonic protection. |
|
Step 2
Transducer Mounting onto Hull StructureThe Ultraguard UG-120/20 transducers were mounted and bonded directly onto the vessel’s internal hull plating at the surveyed positions. Each transducer was secured and connected with armoured cabling ensuring solid acoustic contact with the hull for maximum ultrasonic transmission. |
|
Step 3
Cable Routing to Control Panel LocationTransducer cables were neatly routed through the vessel to the control panel location on the engine room bulkhead. All cabling was installed to marine standards correctly run, protected, and labelled for each channel. Four individual transducer cables were brought into the base of the control panel. |
|
Step 4
Control Panel Installation on Engine Room BulkheadThe UG-04 control panel was mounted on the engine room bulkhead. The panel houses the quad-channel drive board assembly four independent ultrasonic drive modules, each connected to its own transducer. Our marine electrical team carried out all internal wiring, terminations, and power supply connections to the vessel’s electrical system. |
|
Step 5
System Commissioning — All 4 Channels Verified LiveWith installation complete, the system was powered up and each channel tested individually. All four green indicator lights confirmed active operation across every transducer. The vessel’s crew were briefed on the operating controls and the system was handed over fully commissioned and running. |
